Baking
Banana bread
I guess it's the easiest thing to bake if you never baked before.
Requires:
- 120 g of butter,
- bananas, overripe are better,
- 2 eggs,
- 100 g of sugar,
- a bit of salt and vanilla powder,
- 150 g of flour,
- 1 tsp. of baking powder (a.k.a leavening),
- an oven.
If you start now, your bread will be ready in 2 hours. It's because you need to bake and then wait until the bread is cool.
- Melt 120 g if butter, put aside to let it cool;
- Smash 250 g of bananas (250 g without skin) with a spoon and a fork to make a puree, put aside;
- Mix 2 eggs, 100 g of sugar, a pinch of salt, 2 pinches of vanilla powder;
- Whip the mix with a mixer for 3 minutes (go bananas) until you get a light foam;
- Add cooled melted butter into the mix, whip for 30 more seconds;
- Sift 150 g of flour + 1 tsp. of baking powder;
- Whip the batter, choose lower speed;
- Add banana puree into the batter, stir until smooth;
- Fold the mix into a baking pan;
- Bake for 40--45 minutes on 180 °C.
When time is up, check if it's done with a chopstick. If bottom is undercooked, cover the pan with a foil and cook longer.
When it's done, let it cool down naturally. It's said to be important.
